Richard Mille Carbon TPT Case

The RM 011 is a limited edition that mixes carbon fiber and layers of red quartz TPT. This unusual material is the result of a collaboration between Richard Mille and Formula 1 driver Kimi Raikkonen.

Red Forge Carbon Bezel

The forged carbon aesthetic isn’t new, but for a while it was only used by the most high-end (and high-priced) brands. Now, however, Dietrich is among the small but growing army of brands embracing this material for its ruggedness and unique coloration.

For this series, forged carbon is infused with colored glass fibers and phosphorescent material to create bezel designs that evoke solar flares. Because of the nature and engineering of the material, no two bezels will look the same.

As a result, the bezels glow with solar flare patterns in dark conditions, while they remain black in bright light. Completing the design are rose gold steel screws, case back keeper, shock proof buttons, and buckle. To commemorate G-SHOCK’s 40th anniversary, an Eric Haze designed logo is engraved on the case back and “SINCE 1983” is written on the keeper. The RM 11-03 FQ TPT is one of Richard Mille’s most popular models, and the brand has released a variety of aesthetic versions that all share the modern tonneau case design. This particular version is made from red quartz TPT, a new type of thin-ply technology that was developed for sporting applications and industrial use but offers a striking aesthetic when machined.

The watch features a manual winding RMAC3 titanium calibre with flyback chronograph function. The watch also has a titanium bezel, titanium screws and a skeleton dial with intricate movement detailing.

The dial is made of forged carbon, which gives it a raw and earthy look that contrasts with the polished bezel insert. It has a printed outer minute track that is easy to read, and is fully lumed. The indices have brushed top surfaces and polished sloping sides, and are generously lumed as well.
